A man who was attacked in Lynn’s town centre still does not know if he will lose the sight of one of his eyes a month after the assault, police have revealed.
Detectives have appealed for witnesses to come forward in connection with the incident in Paradise Lane, off Norfolk Street, which happened at around midnight on Saturday August 17.
Police say that details of the case, which were first made public on Thursday, were only released once the victim had decided to make a formal complaint.
A spokesman said the 19-year-old man had been walking with two female friends when they were approached by a group of four men.
He suffered a punch to the eye, which caused him to fall to the ground, from one of the group after he asked what had been said to one of the women. He was then punched in the eye by another of the men while on the floor. The group made off towards Norfolk Street.
Detectives say the victim is still undergoing medical treatment following the assault and has difficulty seeing out of his right eye. It is not yet known whether he will lose any of his sight.
