FAKENHAM: Our new councillor - as two step down

An architect who lives and works in Fakenham has been co-opted on to the town council.

Richard Smith has lived in Norfolk since 1994 and in Fakenham for the past ten years. He said: “I’m very aware that Fakenham is expanding and would like to be involved in helping to shape this process for the good of the community. My daughter goes to the High School so education is also a particular concern.”

Mr Smith’s co-option filled the vacancy caused by the resignation of long-serving councillor Des Hewitt in December.

Two more councillors handed in their resignations in February. John and Gloria Lisher expressed their particular gratitude to town clerk Jan Perfect and her assistant Jane Gant for their help during the years they had served on the council.
