Plans for a new service to help support older people to stay well and independent are proposed to be scrapped under new budget cuts.
Norfolk County Council had started work on the introduction of the Strong and Well scheme but will abandon it to save £500,000.
That proposal plus others affecting older people are on the agenda at a consultation event in Lynn.
June Stokes, honorary secretary of West Norfolk Older Person’s Forum, said: “I am very concerned by the lack of support there is for older people.
“When you go and see somebody and they need some support, you can’t even recommend where to go because all those services are disappearing.”
Mrs Stokes also fears the impact on cuts to library services, which she said help prevent social isolation for older people.
The council is looking to reduce how often mobile libraries call at some places.
There are also plans to stop people spending adult social care personal budgets on leisure activities.
West Norfolk Older Persons Forum is hosting the event at the British Red Cross, Austin Fields, Lynn, on Monday, October 28, 10.15am for 10.45am start.
