The company behind plans to transform the former Lynn Post Office building will begin marketing the flats and shops next year.
Telereal Trillium received planning permission on Monday to redevelop the vacant Blackfriars Street building in a £9 million project.
The building will house shops, 27 flats along with offices, a cafe and a medical centre after receiving the greenlight from West Norfolk Council’s planning committee.
A start date for the building work will not be decided until the marketing campaign has begun.
A spokesman for the London-based company said: “We are delighted with the outcome of the planning committee meeting.
“We look forward to progressing plans to bring the empty building back into use, providing local housing and employment.
“Marketing of the site to residential developers and commercial occupiers will begin in the new year.”
The post office has been closed since 2007.
