A group of friends in Flitcham are well on their way to raising their £7,000 target to create a sanctuary room at Norfolk Hospice, Tapping House.

Val Blackmur, pictured centre, with friends, from left, Pat Cox, Eileen Jarvis, Dianne Shipp and Elizabeth Osborne, raised £200 with a ‘new to you’ event in Flitcham community centre on Saturday. This has been added to the £3,000 they have already raised. Their next event will be a yard sale around the village from 9am to noon on Easter Sunday. The sanctuary room will be a quiet space where patients, visitors and staff can sit and reflect. The money will pay for decoration and furnishings. The Norfolk Hospice will be moving this year from Snettisham to purpose-built accommodation at Hillington.
