A grand total of £3,199.72p was raised for the Norfolk Hospice, Tapping House at a Victorian Christmas Bazaar held at Flitcham.

The event, which was opened at 9.30am by Lady Angela Oswald C.V.O. ran throughout the day and featured a small army of helpers in Victorian dress.

Val ‘Queen Victoria’ Blackmur instigated the successful bazaar and said she was stunned by the amount of money raised.

She added: “A lot of people put a lot of hard work into making the event so successful as well as giving professional services for free but the amount raised has exceeded our wildest dreams for such a little village.”

On sale was a special Flitcham Victorian Recipe Book comprising 38 everyday recipes submitted by villagers and friends.
