School children were given ideas for the future careers during an aspirational fair.
Nelson Academy asked people from 20 professions to take part in its third futures fair, which was attended by 90 children.
Pupils from Years 5 and 6 enjoyed hearing talks from Downham Academy youngsters and staff from the University of East Anglia. Frances Rayner also spoke to the children about volunteering.
During the afternoon session, the youngsters were able to browse around a variety of different stalls, where they were given a chance to decorate cakes and have a go at window cleaning.
Vice principal Rebecca Westall said the youngsters got a lot out of the event.
She said: “The teachers said the fair gave the children a sense of ambition and motivation.”
