A community is grieving the death of 32-year-old father-of-one James Beckett.
James’ mother and father - Sandy and Mick Beckett, who run The Clock Cafe, in Wootton Road, Gaywood – found James’s lifeless body on the sofa at his home in Anthony Nolan Road, Fairstead, on Saturday.
Sandy, 53, of Hill View Road, Gaywood, said: “He was a very lovable person and so cheeky.”
James, a former King Edward VII School, had battled to rebuild his life after suffering severe injuries in a head-on car crash on the A47 at Middleton in 2005.
A postmortem is being carried out to establish how he died. James had a history of mental ill health.
He leaves a wife Hayley, 31, and son Jack, aged two, as well as bother Simon, 31 and sister Susan, 34.
His funeral is at Mintlyn crematorium, 4pm on Monday, January 20. Donations to the NSPCC and Scotty’s Little Soldiers. followed by a gathering at The Clock Cafe.
