A black Jeep Patriot and a silver Vauxhall Vectra collided on Southery Road in Feltwell at around 5pm.
The 11-year-old had to be cut free from the Vectra by firefighters and taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, with arm and internal injuries.
The driver of the Vectra, a woman, was taken to West Suffolk Hospital with facial injuries.
Firefighters from Methwold, Downham Market and Brandon attended and the road was closed until 9.15pm.
