Grimston WI has chosen to support Red Wellies, the Lisa Wiles Brain Tumour Support Fund as its charity for the forthcoming year. Last week they organised a pub crawl starting off at the Three Horseshoes in Roydon, one of many events planned to help the charity.
Red Wellies trustee Mervyn Wiles, father of Lisa who died of the disease in 2011, said: “I am delighted that this WI group has chosen to support our charity this year. It is wonderful to have support from our local community.”
He also expressed his thanks to other people from across West Norfolk who have been raising funds recently. Holly Meadows School in Grimston raised £96.26 during a fun day on July 20 while collection buckets at Pentney Social Club accumulated £40.09.
Katie Kavanagh has donated the £190 she raised while completing the Grand East Anglian Run in May and Trisha Moore made £187 via a stand at Narborough Fair on July 27.
