A Heacham couple presented a cheque for £1,295 to Lynn’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital on behalf of the Philanthropic Lodge 107, as a thanks for the expert care given to their son.

The donation was made by master of the lodge, Adrian Wallace, and his wife, Christine, who wanted to thank the hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for treating their son, Alan, for five weeks when he was born 33 years ago.

Mr Wallace, pictured right, and Christine, centre, presented the cheque to the hospital’s fundraising executive, Laurence Morlaas, on Wednesday. The money was raised through the masonic lodge, which held a Ladies’ Night at its usual meeting place in the Duke’s Head Hotel, in October.

The money will go to the NICU Patient Equipment Fund.
