A 16-year-old dancer from Heacham has swooped into the semi-finals of Sky TV’s Got To Dance talent show with London dance troupe Unity Academy.
The only Norfolk dancer to have made it this far in this year’s competition, Abigail Brown has been a member of the group for two years and has been training five times a week for the competition.
Her mother, Tamsin, said: “The group have done really well and I think they stand a good chance, but it’s all down to votes.
“Abigail does nothing but dance and it takes a lot of dedication.
“She’s always down in London training and has a place at Mandy Ellen Performing Arts School in Maidstone for September.”
Having trained in hip hop dancing since the age of four, Abigail has secured over 100 trophies in the last 12 years.
But after giving up her summer and social life to train for the show, this could be her biggest challenge yet.
Her mother added: “She’s enjoying every minute of it.”
The show celebrates its fifth birthday this summer and features Australian actor and dancer, Adam Garcia, Ashley Banjo and Kimberley Wyatt as judges, who are each mentoring groups throughout the series.
Adam Garcia said: “I’m so excited that for this year we’ll be able to work so closely with our chosen dancers and really invest in every aspect of their act.”
The winning performers will walk away with a £250,000 prize.
You can see Unity Academy performing in the semi-finals on Sky 1 tomorrow night and cast your votes to help them reach the finals, which will be televised live on Friday.
