If the headteacher was waiting for you when you arrived at school, you might be forgiven for wondering just what you had done wrong.

But there were no such anxieties for the Year 11 students at the King’s Lynn Academy as principal Craig Morrison welcomed them to their prom celebrations last Friday night.

Mr Morrison, who was himself dressed for the occasion in a dinner suit and bow tie, greeted the students as they prepared to mark the end of their GCSE exams in suitably grand style.

As well as an array of dazzling dresses and dashing suits, the students also took the chance to swap the more conventional means of getting to school for something a bit more exotic.

Motorbikes, convertibles and even a Rolls Royce were among the glamour vehicles seen pulling up at the academy site on Queen Mary Road.
