A profoundly deaf Lynn woman braved the clippers and had her head shaved in public as a thanks to West Norfolk Deaf Association for its continued support.

Jenny Cave raised £306.60 for the local branch of the charity and the money will be spent on supporting and running local services which Jenny, as a sign language user, uses.

Fundraising co-ordinator Sarah Cox said: “Jenny is a strong part of the deaf community in Lynn and she offered to shave her hair to raise money for the Deaf Association. She said it would help keep her cool in the heat.”

While Jenny was having her head shaved, the charity’s signing choir performed. The charity will hold a quiz and race night at North Wootton Rugby Club on September 19.
