Nursery pupils were upset after their garden was destroyed by mindless vandals.
Yobs slashed at canopies which had been decorating the Twinkle Toes Nursery in Horsleys Fields, Lynn.
Earlier in the summer members of the Prince’s Trust added nautical themed canopies to the garden, which were made of sails and pulleys.
But these have been destroyed by the yobs after they forced their way into the site.
Nursery manager Kelly Rye is now appealing for new sails to decorate the garden and provide shelter for the youngsters.
She said: “It is just pointless vandalism. I can’t imagine that they would get anything of monetary value from the sails so it was just mindless.
“It is really heartbreaking as the Prince’s Trust were here for two weeks to put in the new garden.
“The children were really pleased with the garden and they have taken all that away.
“The big thing is that we can’t get hold of any sails to replace them.
“If anyone has any sails or pulleys, we would be really grateful.
“We don’t have lots of money to spend on big things so we are back to square one.”
Staff at the nursery discovered the vandalism attack when they arrived for work on Tuesday, October 1.
The Prince’s Trust were also helped by the fire brigade in decorating the garden during the summer.
This is the first time the nursery, which looks after 120 children, has been the victim of a vandalism attack.
The incident has been reported to police, who are also investigating the theft of hundreds of pounds worth of clothing from another business in Horsleys Fields.
Thieves raided A J’s Boutique on the same evening and took a large amount of clothing.
Anyone with information on either incident is asked to call police on the 101.
If you are able to help the nursery replace the sails and pulleys please contact Kelly Rye on 01553 760211.
