A rare picture of aviator Amy Johnson’s plane after it had crashed in the Wash near Lynn is among the gems from a museum’s attics which will go on display today.
Staff at True’s Yard Museum, in North End, Lynn, have put together an exhibition of pieces which are not normally seen.
Among these are the picture of the plane (above). The pilot was Mr Brooke and the plane had to be towed to Common Staithe where children are reported to have played on it.
Other items include a naval uniform and a siren. In the picture, left, Dr Paul Richards tries out the siren.
The Hidden Gems exhibition opens today and will run for a month.
