More than £3,000 from a book sale at Hilgay has been presented to Norfolk Hospice Tapping House.

The event was organised by butcher Ali Dent, who arranges twice-yearly sales of second hand books in the village.

A total of £3,137 was raised at the last sale in October. Mr Dent and his supporters previously donated £300 from a knitted character competition to hospice funds.

His next fundraiser is the Hilgay Burgermeister Challenge on Saturday, January 19. Teams or individuals are being challenged to chomp their way through a 4lb burger.

Entry costs £15 for a team of four. More information is available from Mr Dent, telephone 01366 387686.
