Artist Sue Heaser was commissioned to create the jewellery, which is already proving to be a hit after an order was placed from a customer in Italy.

Retail and membership manager Maria Wong is now considering commissioning bracelet charms and earrings.

The necklace is on sale at the museum in Market Streetand costs £129 for a 24-carat gold piece and £39.99 for a bronze version. Museum learning assistant June Ismail is pictured displaying one.
