Students at Hunstanton’s Smithdon High School have handed over the proceeds of their fundraising effort in aid of Scotty’s Little Soldiers.

Members of the school council have presented a cheque for £400 to representatives of the Lynn-based charity which was set up in memory of Cpl Lee Scott, who was killed in Afghanistan in 2009.

The money was raised through a non-uniform and the sale of wristbands in school before the Christmas holiday.

Teacher Julie Stewart, back left, and headteacher Jon Goodchild, back centre, joined the students for the presentation photocall.

Pictured accepting the cheque on behalf of the charity, which supports the children of fallen servicemen and women and provides holiday homes for families to enjoy a break, is Caroline Spencer.
