Fakenham mayor Jeremy Punchard and the town clerk Linda Jennings have met with the wife and son of the late Jack Richards to discuss ways in which he might be remembered.

The popular haulage businessman, whose yellow lorries are a familiar sight all over the country, died in May aged 90. Three proposals were considered – name a new road in the town after Mr Richards; have a riverside walk in his name which would be maintained by the council; have an inscribed bench on the riverside path. Town councillors were happy to accept one or more suggestion, for discussion in the coming months.
