A man who was exposed to asbestos during his working life died as a result of the industrial disease mesothelioma, an inquest concluded yesterday. John Beck, 72, of Salmons Way, Fakenham, died on December 23, 2012 at Lynn’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital, four weeks after being diagnosed with the disease.

In a statement, his widow Jennifer said Mr Beck had worked in various roles in which he had been exposed to asbestos, including working on a farm with asbestos buildings, and for a pipeline company where he may have come into contact with the material.

Coroner Jacqueline Lake concluded that Mr Beck died as a result of the industrial disease mesothelioma.
