An inquest has been opened into the death of a man who was involved in a road accident near Downham.

Brian Bockmaster, who was 80 and of Mill Lane, Swaffham, died from injuries sustained in a collision on the A1122 at Stradsett last month.

An inquest into his death was opened and adjourned for a date which has yet to be fixed in Norwich on Friday.

The hearing was told that the cause of Mr Bockmaster’s death was multiple injuries caused by a road collision.

As previously reported, Mr Bockmaster had been driving a blue Honda Civic when it was involved in a head-on collision with a grey Audi A3 on the evening of Friday February 21.

He was subsequently taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Lynn, where he later died. The female driver of the Audi sustained minor injuries.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are continuing. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact police via the non-emergency 101 number.
