Jobless benefit claims in West Norfolk have fallen to their lowest level for two years.
The number of people out of work and claiming Jobseekers’ Allowance in the borough stood at 2,593 in July, a drop of 85 on the previous month.
The total, revealed on Wednesday, is the lowest since July 2011 and equates to around 2.9 per cent of the workforce.
Estimates of the total number without work in the area are still about seven per cent.
The claim total fell by 69 in North Norfolk to 1,261, by 51 in South Holland to 1,390 and by 26 in Breckland to 2,051.
