With financial support from Victory Housing and an allotment area provided by the town council, the Gardening In Fakenham (GIFT) project has really taken off.

Organiser Pauline Chamberlain said there are a few mini-trainee plots still available to give local residents the chance to grow their own fruit and vegetables before taking on a larger plot.

The initiative has been applauded by Fakenham Town Council which is always keen to see more people using the town’s allotments.

Free grow-your-own training is available, whether on site at the Claypit Lane allotments or in pots or even your own garden.

Ms Chamberlain may be contacted at Fakenham Academy on 01328 857000 for further information on this popular gardening initiative.
