Almost 1,000 school children from 40 different schools are to take part in an event designed to teach them to deal with everyday emergencies.

The week-long event, the 10th Crucial Crew to be held in the West Norfolk area, will use ten-minute interactive sessions to teach vital safety tips.

Year six pupils will be placed in situations which simulate danger, such as a bedroom fire.

The event will take place at Lynn fire station from Monday, April 28. It is offered by Norfolk Fire and Rescue in association with emergency services, safety organisations and utility companies.

More than 36,000 young people have attended Crucial Crew events.
