Primary school children have been asked to give their views on a planned £30,000 new play area .

Governors and teachers at Fairstead Primary School are hoping to transform a simple grassed area into a learning environment.

Money has been set aside to add a gazebo and new walkways later this year but the wider improvements are set to take two years. The school will be running fundraising events for this project.

On Friday last week, youngsters were able to tell Martin Sale, chairman of the governors, what they wanted to be included in the play area.

Youngsters were keen on a large story telling chair and a musical area.
