You may be forgiven for not knowing where to find the Vancouver Restaurant, or that it employs some of the best young chefs in the area.
This is because the restaurant is found within the College of West Anglia and as a fully functioning eatery, also serves as a classroom for the hospitality department.
Enterprising young couple, Tom and Katie Moore decided to utilise the expertise of the training workforce by hosting their wedding reception at the venue.
Tom, an ex-electrical student at the college, and Katie came up with the idea and the college was thrilled to accommodate their request.
Jonathan Boyall, hospitality lecturer said: “Our restaurant is run by our students and they train and develop their skills under the expert supervision of experienced staff.
“We offer a unique combination of expertly-prepared food and dedicated service, offering great food for a range of budgets.”
Tom praised the students, saying: “We couldn’t ask for anything more. The food was fabulous and so was the service.”
The hospitality department is looking forward to hosting more special occasions in the future.
Stacey Martin, service supervisor said “I really enjoyed serving at the wedding reception.
“It was lovely to do something different to the normal daily service.
“It was a fantastic experience for the students as they can now say they’ve catered for a wedding”
Whether it be wedding parties or business functions. The Vancouver restaurant offers some of the best cuisine in the area with seating for up to 50 guests, offering a flexible service with its own fully licensed bar.
