Four of the 9th King’s Lynn’s Guides group, who will be volunteering abroad this summer, have met West Norfolk Mayor Barry Ayres and Mayoress Christine Ayres, to discuss their hard work and travel plans.

The Guides were selected for the projects after obtaining the Baden Powell award and will be helping to set up a food bank in a poor area of Mexico and run a children’s summer school in Romania.

Alice Brundle, Katie Taylor, Olivia Grummett and Emily Carter, pictured above with Mr and Mrs Ayres, have been fundraising for their adventures since February to raise the £7,000 required, using activities such as book stalls, baking and bag packing to help them reach their target.
