Self-taught phone repairer Stuart Daley has found such a demand for his services that he has set up his own business.
Stuart, of 3 Harecroft Gardens, off Loke Road, has just launched Norfolk Phone Repairs, travelling to people’s homes within a 20-mile radius of Lynn.
He said: “I used to buy faulty phones, repair them and then sell them on again. Now it’s grown into a full-time business. I can repair mobiles, iPads, and tablets. Some common problems are smashed screens, locked phones or batteries which need replacing.
“Because I am mobile and don’t have to bear the cost of running a shop, I can be very competitive on price.
“Visiting people in their homes is often more convenient for them and they are never without their phone or device.”
Stuart, who was made redundant from his previous job of 18 years as a machine operator, said he had learned his trade by researching ways of fixing phones on the internet and then putting it into practice on faulty phones he had bought.
