A mural of poppies has created a poignant display in the heart of Lynn to mark the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War. The 10m image, which depicts a battlefield at dusk, has now been completed at the former Granite shop, in the town’s Vancouver Quarter, as part of the project involving the shopping centre, the College of West Anglia and the Royal British Legion. Hundreds of people, led by borough mayor Barry Ayres, donated poppies to be displayed in the mural, created by college photography student Lewis Bond.
