Songs from the music halls helped Lynn’s newest centenarian to celebrate her big day.
Rose Rooney was joined by three generations of her family in marking her 100th birthday.
Members of the Gilbert and Sullivan Society entertained Mrs Rooney and her family along with staff and residents at Amberley Hall Care Home, Lynn.
Her daughter Cindy Zimmer, of Cornwall, said: “It was lovely to see mum smile and enjoy herself. She enjoyed meeting her great grandson Beau, who was born in February.”
Peckham-born Mrs Rooney swapped her sales job to volunteer as a nurse for the Red Cross during the Second World War.
She was based at Woolwich and served during the London blitz.
Mrs Rooney met her husband Bert, a petty officer in the Navy, during the war.
The pair were married during the early 1940s and went on to have two children, John and Cindy.
Mrs Rooney moved to Brancaster Staithe after her retirement.
She is pictured with her children John and Cindy at the front with Peta Rooney, Robyn Everley, Ian Everley and Hana Rooney and Beau.
