A Lynn quayside restaurant which was hit by last week’s floods hopes to re-open tonight.
Marriott’s Warehouse owners Malcolm Catlin and Andrew Hornigold have praised staff and friends for their hard work in cleaning the restaurant since the high tides covered the South Quay on Thursday last week.
Water had seeped into the warehouse and ran into the cellar, which was brimming up to its ceiling.
But the two men are looking forward to drawing a line under the incident and get back to the busy Christmas party season.
Mr Catlin said: “Staff, friends, various contractors and the council have done a sterling job and we have been able to turn things around quickly.
“It has gone better than we could have expected. When I arrived at the restaurant on Friday morning last week I thought it would take months to clear up.”
Staff have been busy cleaning up the restaurant and were also forced to throw away food as the building’s electric supply was cut between Thursday and Monday.
The site has been cleaned and now the owners are waiting for Environmental Health officers to sign off.
