When Carol Sharp’s husband Bob became president of the Rotary Club of Lynn in June, she had a charity fundraising idea.

She organised a town walk led by Rotary member and historian Dr Paul Richards, followed by afternoon tea at the Bank House restaurant. Earlier this month Mrs Sharp prevailed on Dr Aruna Patel and her husband Bill Irwin to run a curry party at their South Wootton home for Rotarians and friends.

Dr Patel, who is renowned for her culinary wizardry, prepared a delicious three curry meal with all the trimmings for 30 Rotarian wives and members. Mr Sharp did his magic with the bar and with a raffle Carol was able to tuck over £350 into her little black collection box.

Mrs Sharp, pictured right with Dr Patel, thanked the hosts for their hard work and generosity and she is now planning further events for the autumn.
