Community spirit was alive and well in Hillington Square on Wednesday when the first community fete was held at the Olive Branch cafe. Organisers believe over £600 will have been raised for the Purfleet Trust after all the donations have been collected, and have big plans to hold the event again next year.
Supervisor Sam Fox, pictured front left, said: “It went really well and we were really pleased with the turnout.
“Everyone said what a great atmosphere and we really achieved our goal of getting rid of the stigma that surrounds Hillington Square by getting everyone to come out and have fun.”
A new charity shop is due to open in coming weeks. MLNF14PM07395
