Youngsters who have been forced to spend this Christmas in hospital were given some festive cheer by a team of cycling students.

A team of sixth formers and staff from the Springwood High School raised £714 for the Rudham ward at Lynn’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital by completing a 24-hour sponsored cycle ride on static bikes back in October. Many of the group were former patients on the ward.

The money was then used to purchase a range of toys and gifts, which were handed over to ward staff last Monday.
