Two Lynn Sainsbury’s stores are helping to raise awareness of the importance of carers who look after ill, frail or disabled family members by hosting local charity groups instore.
Throughout Carers Week, which takes place between June 9-15, shoppers will have the chance to find out more about the support available through activities and information days.
Janet Elvin, of The Parkinson’s Society, said: “Carers Week gives us the chance to tell the wider community about our work and we would like to encourage anyone who knows a carer, or is a carer themselves and needs support, to come along and see us.”
Head to the Hardwick store on June 12 to see West Norfolk Carers, on June 13 for the Alzheimer’s/Dementia Society, Parkinson’s Society on June 14 and Norfolk Hospice Tapping House on June 15.
At the town centre store, information days will start on June 13 with the Parkinson’s Society, followed by Norfolk Hospice Tapping House on June 14, and finishing with the Alzheimer’s/Dementia Society on June 15.
Sainsbury’s manager Jane Stevenson said: “Carers play such an important part in our community and we’re proud to be working with Carers UK to help highlight the support that’s available in West Norfolk.”
