Ben Greer setting off on his Big Lift Challenge - carrying 100kg for 440 miles. Leaving Lynn's Tuesday Market. With some of his supporters at the start.

Ex-RAF serviceman Ben Greer set off from Lynn’s Tuesday Market Place yesterday morning on his challenge to carry a pack weighing 100kg for 440miles around the UK – a mile for every man or woman killed during the conflict in Afghanistan.

The 33-year-old, who is pictured being seen off by supporters, is fundraising for five armed forces charities - SSAFA, Help For Heroes, RAF Benevolent Fund, Royal Navy and Marine Charity and the Army Benevolent Fund.

To sponsor Ben, go to www.justgiving.com/teams/TheBigLiftChallenge or text TBLC50 followed by £ and the amount to 70070.
