King’s Lynn trade unionists show charitable side

The Kings Lynn branch of a nationwide trade union has made a donation to a cancer charity.

The GMB presented the cheque of £1,500 to Macmillan Cancer Support on December 14 at Middleton Hall Golf Club as part of their annual Christmas meal.

Dave Dennis,secretary of the branch handed the cheque to Howard Moore, who was present on behalf of Macmillan.

Head office of the GMB gave the Lynn branch £1,000 to be donated directly to Macmillan, who provide support for sufferers of cancerous illnesses. A further £500 was raised through the meal.

Mr Dennis said “Alongside the £1,000 from head office and the £500 raised through the meal, on the night of the event we raised a further £200 to hand over to Macmillan, bringing the total to £1700”

“The union would like to thank everyone that made a donation to the cause.”
