Members of Lynn Triathlon Club took part in the National Club Relay Championship.
The event, known as the Glastonbury of Triathlon, attracts the best clubs from all over the country.
Held at Nottingham’s National Water Sports Centre this unique event hosted more than 2000 triathletes in a fast and furious competition where four teammates complete each of the three disciplines.
Many of the teams which compete camp on the site, hence the festival nickname.
KLTC entered four teams into the competition, two female teams and two male.
The women’s A team consisted of Sue George, Nicky Roger, Jane Holmes and Geraldine Jordan.
They finished their relay of 500m swim, 15km bike ride and 5k run in 4.30.17.
The B team of Stina Thorarinsson, Anna Seaman, Emma Thompson and Tamlin Hegarty came in at 4.45.28.
The men’s A team of Andrew Fillmore, Simon Light, Ben Smith and Chris Workman had a fantastic result finishing fifth in their category and 46th overall, with an amazing time of 3.34.39.
The men’s B team of Tayo Willett, Mark Germany, Alistair Doig and Dave Neale came in at 4.09.33.
Everyone taking part thoroughly enjoyed the friendly, fun, competitive event with many members securing pbs and all vowing to come back next year.
Club chairman Jason Pattinson said: “it was a great effort from all of the teams.
“The men’s A team did really well against a tough field.
“Considering this is a national event and this was our first appearance, the result was brilliant for a club less than a year old.”
