King’s Lynn undertaker’s housing plan

A former funeral parlour could be demolished to make away for housing.

Thornalley’s Funeral Services wants to build six homes on its former site in St James’ Street, Lynn.

The firm, which is now based in Austin Street, has submitted a planning application to West Norfolk Council.

It has asked to demolish part of the site to build two four bedroom units, three two bedroom homes and a one bedroom site.

The application states: “The proposed scheme retains the significant parts of the property, including its rear extensions and chimneys. The demolition proposed affects buildings of no significance”
