A woman from Lynn is taking part in a cycle ride across London to raise funds for charity in the summer.

She is raising money for Breast Cancer Care, Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust and Ovarian Cancer Action.

Rebecca said: “One of the reasons I am doing this is because some of my friends have been touched by cancer and I know I will have the support of many men and women who have also been affected, whether personally or someone they love.”

The route of the course is circular, starting and ending at the Royal Windsor racecourse, and passing monuments such as Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace.

Cyclists set off at 10pm on May 31 and Rebecca will be using her own bike. Her sponsors are 6 County Campers from Stamford in Lincolnshire.

Rebecca said: “My father and his wife own this business, so I have asked them to sponsor me with maintenance, safety equipment and safety clothing to name a few things.

Miss Powell, a paralegal studying to become a chartered legal executive, has decided to use her own bike for the event to give it that extra personal feel.

She said: “The company organises many events each year, one of which is the Women v Cancer Cycle Cuba, which is a 400km cycle across Cuba. It is my ambition to complete that.”
