A former teacher has appeared in court today, Friday, March 28, accused of multiple sexual offences against children dating back as far as the late 1960s.
David Hennessy, 73, of Westfields, Narborough, is likely to stand trial later this year on 16 charges of indecent assault.
Hennessy appeared in the dock at Maidstone Crown Court alongside Nigel Putman, 61, of Slough, who faces three counts of indecent assault.
A third defendant, 70-year-old Colwyn Baker, of Edinburgh, appeared via video link. He is charged with five serious sexual offences and a further 29 counts of indecent assault.
Although the men will formally enter pleas at a hearing on June 25, they have all indicated they deny the charges against them.
The alleged offences are said to have been committed against pupils of the Swaylands School in Penshurst, Kent, between 1967 and 1993.
A provisional date for a trial, which is likely to last for two months, has been set for October 20.
