The final phase of major roadworks on the A47 in Lynn is due to get underway this evening, Friday, August, 8.
For the past two months, motorists have faced severe delays because of the project to repair the road between the Pullover and Hardwick roundabouts.
Now, the Highways Agency has announced that the eastbound side of the road will be shut from 8pm tonight until 6am tomorrow so new road markings can be painted.
The westbound side will then be closed from 8pm tomorrow until 6am on Sunday so the contraflow system can be removed. During the closures, diversions will be in place via the A10, A1122, A1101 and A47.
There will also be lane closures on Sunday to enable speed cameras to be removed and a new central reservation barrier to be installed.
Highways Agency officials hope the work will be completed by Tuesday, subject to suitable weather conditoons.
