A man was detained by police late this afternoon, Friday December 13, following a four-hour standoff on a housing estate in West Lynn.
The man, who is in his 40s, was arrested shortly before 5pm today after the disturbance at a flat on the Poppyfields estate.
A Norfolk Police spokesman said officers had originally been called to the area at around 1pm following reports that a man was refusing to leave a flat on the estate.
He was said to be in a distressed state and was making threats.
Armed response units and specially trained negotiators were sent to the scene and the area was cordoned off.
However, police have stressed that no other people were inside the property at the time and insisted there was no wider threat to public safety.
