Two people have been injured in collisions on West Norfolk’s roads this morning, Sunday December 29, as police chiefs urge motorists to take extra care in icy conditions.

A woman in her 70s suffered minor injuries when her car left Bexwell Road, Downham, at around 8.40am today and ended up upside down in a ditch.

And a driver sustained a minor head injury in an incident on Ringstead Road, Docking, at around 9.40am today when his vehicle overturned.

Firefighters from Downham and Hunstanton were called to the respective incidents to make the scene safe.

And, in a post on its official Twitter account, Norfolk Police said: “Take care out there this morning. Freezing temperatures overnight means slippery conditions, particularly on untreated roads.”
