There are all kinds of ways that you, your friends and family can join together to help us raise the £25,000 needed to provide quality and comfort for those who need it most at the new hospice.

You could organise a coffee morning, set up a cake stall, shave off your hair, turn suds into cash with a car wash, hold a bingo night, leap out of a plane in a sponsored sky dive or go for a gentle sponsored stroll in the park.

Car boot sales or indoor table-top sales are popular fundraisers, or you could invite your friends round to dinner for a “Come Dine With Me” experience in return for a donation.

And, as we approach the festive season, you could choose to make a donation to the appeal instead of sending Christmas cards. These are just a few ideas but the scope is endless and the choice is yours.

The fundraising office at Norfolk Hospice, Tapping House is able to help you with your events, whether it’s advice you need or perhaps promotional material to get yourself and your efforts noticed.

For instance, a poster is available which can be pinned up in workplaces if people wish to donate to the hospice in lieu of sending Christmas cards to colleagues and it is designed so that you can still write your festive message to them.

Everyone who is taking part with a fundraising event, whether it’s an individual or a large business, will have the opportunity to publicise their event in the Lynn News free, and we’re happy to take pictures of your fundraiser, or receive ones you have taken yourself.

And as a way of thanks and recognition for your good deeds, everyone who takes part will receive a special Lynn News Help Our Hospice Appeal certificate to display in places such as offices, schools and meeting rooms.

If you are planning an event, please get in touch with hospice community fundraiser Lindsey Atkin, who will be able to offer advice if needed and provide promotional material.

She can be contacted by phoning 01485 542891 or sending an email to lindsey.atkin@norfolkhospice.org.uk

Please help us to Help Our Hospice so that we can all make a difference to those people who benefit from its good work.
