An elderly man has died following a road accident near Downham on Friday night.
The 80-year-old, who has not yet been named, had been driving a blue Honda Civic when it was involved in a head-on collision with a grey Audi A3 on the A1122 at Stradsett, at around 8.20pm.
Police say the man was airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Lynn, where he later died. The female driver of the Audi suffered minor injuries.
The road was closed for more than four hours after the crash, which was one of three fatal collisions on Norfolk’s roads over the weekend. Two pedestrians were killed following separate incidents in Caister, near Yarmouth, and Stockton, near Beccles.
Police want to hear from anyone who witnessed the Stradsett crash or who saw either of the vehicles prior to it.
Anyone with information should contact the Norfolk Police Serious Collisions Investigation Team on 101.
