A man received a fractured jaw after being attacked from behind close to Gaywood Cemetery.

The man, who is in his 20s, was walking along the footpath near to the cemetery, opposite Napier Close, Fairstead, at 10.15pm on Thursday last week.

He was attacked from behind and hit on the head.

The man was treated for a fractured jaw.

Police are now appealing for more information into the assault. Officers are keen to speak to witnesses or anyone who saw anything suspicious.
