A man has died after falling into a grain silo in Fincham, police have confirmed.
Emergency services were called to Larchwood Foods, at Hall Farm, in Swaffham Road, at 11.05am.
A police spokesman said: “The Constabulary and Health and Safety Executive have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident and a seal is currently in place at the premises. Enquiries continue.”
The man has not been named.
Fire crews from Downham and Lynn attended along with ambulance service crews, including Magpas Helimedix.
An ambulance service spokesman said: “The East of England Ambulance Service (EEAST) were alerted to Fincham near Kings Lynn at 11am this morning.
“An ambulance, a duty officer, rapid response car, the Trusts hazardous area response team (HART) and Magpas Helimedix attended the scene. Our crews are also working closely with Norfolk Fire & Rescue Service and Norfolk Constabulary.”
Larchwood Foods is a family run business owned by the Mason family, who have been farming in and around Fincham for over 200 years. The company produces rapeseed wheat and sugar beet and last year invested in state-of-the-art oil seed processing and bottling facilities alongside its storage barns, dryers, and offices.
Larchwood Foods declined to comment about the incident.
