Police in Swaffham have appealed for help to trace a man who was seen at a building where a chainsaw was stolen and a window smashed last week.

Officers say the man, who is described as white, approximately 5ft 10in tall, and of slim build, was seen at the property in Whitsands Road at around 10.15am last Thursday. He was wearing a black hooded top with the hood up, and a black jacket.

A brick was thrown at a rear window of the building between midnight on Wednesday February 12 and 10am last Friday.

Then, on Sunday, it was discovered that a Stihl chainsaw, which had been left under sheeting outside the property, had also been stolen.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact PC Matt Harris, of Dereham police, on the non-emergency 101 number.
